Scholarships
UMKC offers generous scholarship opportunities for incoming first-year students, transfer, and currently enrolled students.
First-Year Students
- Trustees’ Scholarships provide up to $60,000 over four years.
- Automatic scholarships are awarded to students based on information provided on the UMKC Admissions application and do not require an added application. First-year students who apply to UMKC by January 15 will be considered for these awards.
Transfer Students
- Automatic scholarships are awarded to transfer students based on information provided on the UMKC Admissions application and do not require an added application.
- Transfer students who apply to UMKC by February 15 will be considered for these awards.
- Students who transfer in the spring semester should apply before November 15
Current Students
- The Talbott Honors Program Scholarship is available to outstanding honors students of all majors. Each scholarship award will be at least $1,000.
- Submit your Talbott Scholarship application (PDF) form by March 8.
- Some scholarships require completion of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 1
- Academic Unit Scholarships are available in many major departments. Visit your major department’s site and talk to your departmental advisor to learn about available scholarships.
- UMKC’s new Nationally Competitive Awards Office helps students find and apply for prestigious, nationally competitive and external merit awards. These scholarships and fellowships fund undergraduate and graduate study, research and various work and study abroad experiences. UMKC Honors students are among the most competitive candidates for these awards.
